Youth Classes
Amazing things happen when you don't underestimate what your students can do. At their rate of growth, our 8-15 yo students are on pace to have portfolios on par or above college graduates.
They are having a blast learning very difficult skills while building a supportive community. If you've never seen a group of 10-12 yo boys go from laughing to intense focus, or a group of girls encourage and push each other through difficult tasks, it is a sight to behold.
Their creativity blows us away! MentorWings students literally don't want to leave class. This is how learning should happen!
Adult Classes
We believe anyone can make amazing artwork no matter the age. All that is needed is the interest and desire to learn.
Our adult students have surprised themselves with the amount of progress they have been able to make in a short amount of time.
These are not just step-by-step projects but learn all the real secrets and skills to making original and impressive art.

our mission
MentorWings Art Classes were created for students who either have an interest in art, a passion for drawing/animation/video games/comic books/design or envision a career as an artist.
These are not art and craft classes but classes taught by professionals with over 20 years each in Film/TV Animation, Video Games, Comics, Toy Design, Illustration and more.
We will be taking an apprenticeship approach to these classes so whatever level the student is, they should be able to grow in their craft.
Our approach is very much how we would train an Artist on the job. We have the students draw what interests them, we evaluate their work and give them a path to follow to improve their work.
Instructor
Gabriel Valles
Founder of MentorWings. has spent the last 20+ years as an art director,
animator, concept artist and character designer, and illustrator for
feature films, video games, comic books, and toys.
He started MentorWings to help students get an early start in their
art careers and eliminate the need for expensive art schools.
Our goal is to re-invent the apprenticeship system.
Teaching Experience: ACC, One Day Academy,
on the job Art Direction and Training.
Previous credits include; Warner Brothers Feature Animation, Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, Readers Digest, Marvel Comics, Activision, Nickelodeon, and many more.
